Isobel McIntosh joined Volterra as a consultant in 2009.
Isobel holds a BSc Hons in Economics and Mathematics from the University of St Andrews. Major elements of this included research into the development of financial mathematics and the application of international finance to the current economic crises.

Since joining Volterra, Isobel has rapidly made a meaningful contribution to a variety of projects, including:
- Development work on Sheffield Local Transport Plan, focusing particularly on agglomeration and the existence of spatial mismatch in the local economy
- Examining the economic potential for improved connectivity between cities in the North of England
- Developing a model for Regional Inflation
