Benny Spooner, Senior Consultant _____________________________________
Benny is a Senior Consultant at Volterra, having joined the company in 2006. He has worked on many credit risk assignments, along with other projects in the Financial Services sector. He has also completed a number of socio-economic assessments for Volterra's Development and Planning projects.
Benny holds a degree in Economics from the University of Warwick, where he concentrated on studying Mathematical Economics and applying Econometric methods in the completion of his dissertation.

Examples of Financial Services experience include:
- Managing the development of Pillar I PD, LGD and EAD models for an unsecured portfolio
- Stress testing, including grade migration modelling and generating evidence based economic scenarios
- Designing and implementing variable scalar approaches across all retail asset classes for a major UK lender
- Validating Basel II IRB rating models, assessing compliance with the BIPRU regulatory framework
- Working on a project for the FSA analysing the scope for providing incentives for people to invest
- Analysing the effects of possible changes in VAT regulation on the outsourcing industry within Financial Services
Development and Planning projects which Benny has undertaken include:
- Analysing the socio-economic impact of a large proposed development in central London, paying particular attention to changes in the planning policy background
- Developing the economic case for a proposed eco-town application, assessing the viability of the proposal in the light of existing socio-economic conditions
