Bridget founded Oxford Economic Research Associates (OXERA) before leaving teaching in Oxford and starting Business Strategies Ltd in 1988.  This company has recently been sold to Experian, and is now known as Experian Business Strategies.  She was responsible for most of its early direction and development, and led many of its key projects.  At BSL, she was instrumental in establishing the case for a rail station at Ebbsfleet on the rail link to the Channel and for gaining planning permission for development there.

Bridget lectures to business audiences on a variety of topics and is also a broadcaster with a reputation for being able to put complex ideas simply.  She regularly appears on news programmes and has also prepared and scripted her own programmes. These range across social science issues, although they have centred on economics.  Programmes include:
