Volterra associate and Professor of Health Policy at Imperial College Nick Bosanquet was a key speaker in a recent workshop organised by Finland’s leading pharmaceutical company in Helsinki. Nick spoke of the paradox that current health professionals face where the reality of a dark future of financial decompression stands alongside the need to meet the challenge of providing improved service for patients with long term medical conditions. Nick spoke of the refreshingly positive results that can be achieved if we rise to the challenge of  breaking away from obsolete patterns of service and  use forces of innovation (skype led doctor/patient consultations for instance).
