Bridget speaks at Strutt & Parker's annual Prospects for Property event

Bridget Rosewell spoke at the annual Prospects for Property event hosted by Strutt and Parker this month. Her analysis of the current economic situation focused on the implications of the financial market closures, the impending recession in the US and the most worrying risks to the world and to the UK economy. The unprecedented decline in commercial property values in recent months was also highlighted. The presentation, along with those of Andy Martin from Strutt and Parker are found here. Will takes part in a discussion on BBC World Service - World Business Review

On 25th January Will Cook took part in a discussion on BBC World Service - World Business Review. Other guests on the show included Leke Van Den Burg - a Dutch Socialist MEP - and Andrew Palmer, banking correspondent for the Economist magazine. Paul’s take on making a new Britain

The Sunday Times feature 'Making a new Britain' showcased suggestions from ‘bright Brits’ which could radically change the country for the better. Paul’s idea is to replace the PAYE system with a cheque signed by each individual who pays tax, in order to make more explicit the connection between tax and services received from the government. HMRC subsequently asked Paul to present his idea in more detail to the Revenue & Customs economics group. Copies of his presentation to the HMRC are available on request.
