Bridget Rosewell, chairman of Volterra, was the Consultant Chief Economist to the Greater London Authority, between 2002 to 2008. She was responsible for GLA Economics and its analytical framework. Other members of Volterra also support GLA Economics analysis and forecasting performance. Our work for the GLA includes forecasting, agglomeration and the characteristics of housing sub markets.
Patient choice is being gradually introduced into the NHS, with full ‘free choice’ – where patients can choose any hospital or clinic that provides NHS standard care at NHS prices - arriving in April 2008. The regeneration case for TGB is currently being revised by TfL and the LDA, with a view to going back to Public Inquiry in 2008/2009. How do you analyse the economic case for building a new bridge? It is obvious that it is hard to revive and rebuild a location which is hard to get to. But quantifying this effect has proved to be very difficult. Volterra have developed new methodology which links accessibility with potential levels of employment and population.
The government announced that a deal had been struck to finance Crossrail on Friday 5th October 2007. This is a major milestone in a campaign that Volterra has been heavily involved in. Read more on our work here.
