Scottish Enterprise

The extensive experience of forecasting techniques at Volterra has enabled us to secure work conducting appraisals of third party forecasts. As an example of this type of work, we recently performed a review of labour force projections commissioned by the Scottish Enterprise, the main economic development agency for Scotland. This review involved many elements.

 

At the technical end of the spectrum we assessed the appropriateness of the method by which the projections had been constructed. At the more practical end, we examined the extent to which the forecasts were meeting the requirements of both the Scottish Enterprise and its stakeholders. The review allowed the Enterprise to help determine the level of value that is being obtained from the projections and where improvements can be made in the future.
